NATURE DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE

The Change Starts Now

Scientific research states that black and Asian people are dying at higher rates from Covid-19 than Caucasian people. Factors that contribute to this disparate statistic involve underlying health, living situations, work and and income.

A key role making a difference between the ethnic groups was environmental health and proximity to nature. People of colour are more likely to live in areas with a ‘deficiency of access’ to green spaces defined by the London Plan. This describes in terms of how far households need to travel to access a space. It is evident that minority ethnic people are disproportionately affected by environmental conditions which evoke stress and harm our health. Face Your Space offers multiple bursaries to make sure money does not get in the way of ones rightful access to nature.
