Our First Family Adventure – Hyde Park with Our Dog and a Drone

My boyfriend and I have always wanted to do something special together with our dog, Max. Taking him to the park was always fun, but we wanted to create a memory that felt different—something we could look back on and relive. When we heard about DJI’s outdoor filming event, we thought—why not? Hyde Park seemed like the perfect spot for Max to run free, and with the drone, we were able to capture him in ways we never could before. Watching him sprint across the open fields, ears flapping, tail wagging—we caught it all from above, like a scene from a movie. Seeing the park from the sky gave us an entirely new appreciation for the space we thought we already knew so well.
But the highlight of the day was something we never expected. DJI introduced us to a new trend—drone dog walking. At first, we laughed at the idea, but when they showed us how it worked, we were amazed. After the event, the team guided us through a short demo, helping us attach Max’s leash to a specially designed drone harness. I took control, and for the first time, I watched as Max ran across the park, his leash gently leading him forward while the drone followed his movements. Meanwhile, on my screen, I could see everything—his path, his excitement, and the freedom he felt as he ran without us needing to chase after him. It was a surreal, futuristic experience, and honestly, I was blown away.

It was more than just a day out; it felt like a memory we had truly preserved forever. Now, every time I look at those aerial shots, I feel grateful that we took this chance to experience something new as a family. And who knows? Maybe next time, we’ll be back with our own drone—ready to take Max on another adventure, this time from the sky.
