Healthy Body, Healthy Mind with naturallystefanie
The pandemic has done quite a number on many of us, as we scramble to change the habit of staying comfortably stagnant and languishing from the past 2 years to getting back out up there and finding our life purpose again.
Here we talk to Stefanie Moir, a health and fitness Youtuber and Tiktoker in her 20s, as she walks us through her daily fitness and wellness routine and what she does to stay happy and healthy in mind, body and soul.
How has your life changed since the end of the Pandemic?
Throughout the Pandemic I’ve had to adjust from my normal routine of working out at the Gym and buying green juice to doing all of this and more back at home. Having to do it for 2 years straight, you could imagine that it was quite a shock when everything was opening up and I had to change my lifestyle all over again. The adjustment phase wasn’t terrible and I quickly got the hang of my old routine, but my increased monthly expenses were really stressing me out and I had to pick up new habits to help cope with the stress, and had to learn to keep some of the habits I had picked up while in lockdown such as making my own juice as it helped me to save.
Could you tell us more about how you’ve been de-stressing and taking care of your own wellness?
I’ve been pretty stressed out with the launch of my new fitness app, I have been cooped up at home quite a bit the last few weeks but I find stability in consistency. I make sure to do my skincare everyday and I’ve started using hair products to strengthen my hair as well. When the stress levels are a little too high I enjoy going out for a walk round the park and back, I find the sounds and smell of nature very grounding and it really helps me to escape for abit from everyday life.
What’s your typical workout routine like?
I usually get up at 5am in the morning and hit the gym at around 7am. I keep myself to a consistent routine so I workout 4-5 times a week for an hour at a time. I put on my favorite activewear of the day — I am currently obsessed with Cotton On’s new activewear collection, I got this smooth white basketball skirt and pair it with this zipped crop bra top. I go through a push pull legs routine over a period of 8 days, meaning i focus on chest, shoulders, and triceps on push days, back, traps, biceps on pull days, and legs glutes and abs on legs days.
What are some of your everyday essentials?

Water Bottles should of course an essential as I work out very often, I personally am loving this heavy lifter 1.5L drinking bottle. I got this from TYPO by Cotton On. It’s double walled so it’s great for keeping my drinks warm or cold, and it’s really lightweight as well!

Next up is the cutest rise and rest journal, also from TYPO! Journalling is an important part of my daily routine, and it allows me to stay present with my emotions and helps me to identify root causes to problems that happen throughout the day, or why I may be feeling a little more crappy on a certain day. This journal has these little pages where they ask you questions or ask you to list things down about a certain day and it really helps to keep me organised emotionally, which in turn has a huge effect on how I turn out for the rest of the day, or how I approach the next.
This might sound a little cheesy but the last one is my boyfriend, who is my rock and a part of my everyday life. We do everything together: we go to the gym together, we go for walks, grocery runs and we make sure to have an hour of Netflix every night — right now we’re watching Stranger Things!
What are some of the values that help keep you motivated when it comes to your overall health?
I would say that consistency in your routine is the most important as it helps to keep you going. Decide how much you want to workout in a week and stick to that, try not to go above or below that number. The same with the types of workouts — it’s good to increase the amount as you progress but make sure to generally stick to the same set of exercises every week instead of changing it every time you hit the gym.
It’s also good to listen to your body and it is completely okay to take a break. There have been many times where I don’t feel so good and I take a break for almost a week, and I don’t feel like I’m losing progress at all. Be mindful though, as long breaks can begin to result in lower energy levels, and hence lower motivation to exercise or go through other daily routines that help keep you active and mentally productive, such as waking up early or being consistent with your skincare routine. There is a balance to everything and at times where your body demands rest — listen to it.
