Morgan’s first interview

In an effort to inspire the younger generation to break free from the digital realm and embrace their local surroundings, Lululemon has teamed up with the up and coming, vibrant influencer, Morgan Leonard. With her online following on social media platforms rising every day, morgan is known for her adventurous spirit and love for fitness. We had the brilliant opportunity to sit down with morgan and dive into her journey with Lululemon, her favourite spots for a run and her take on the brands new mantra: “The most important answers are never behind a search bar”.

Morgan, when did you first hear of lululemon?

Morgan: Well, I first stumbled upon lululemon a few years ago. I was on the hunt for activewear that not only looked great but also supported my active lifestyle. Lululemon caught my eye, and ever since then, it’s been a stable in my wardrobe.

How long have you been living in London, and what drew you to the city?

Morgan: I moved only 3 months ago so I’m still all very new to this place. I’ve been living in Peckham in a small flat with a few flatmates, but I’ve definitely found comfort in the outdoor spaces near me. Moving from the seaside to London was daunting and running has been a home comfort for me, it’s a hobby that doesn’t matter where I am. The energy of the city, the mix of cultures, and the endless opportunities for exploration drew me in. it’s a place where you can find something new and exciting around every corner.

When did you start running and what inspired you to?

Morgan: School introduced me to running and I saw it as a chore, but it wasn’t until I left school it became a passion of mine. It was an outlet for me during the Covid-19 lockdowns. It meant I had a bit of independence during a couped up time, I had the opportunity to break away from how constrained I felt at home and have an hour to myself just to calm and distract myself from the anxieties of life during that time.

How has lululemon influenced your fitness journey, and what’s your favourite piece from the collection?

Morgan: Lululemon has been a game-changer for me. Their focus on quality and functionality aligns perfectly with my fitness routine. I absolutely love their Align leggings – they’re not only comfortable but also versatile for various activities. I have been known to wear them for coffee dates with my friends and running errands.

Being someone who embraces an active lifestyle, where is your favourite running spot in London?

Morgan: Peckham rye park is definitely the most convenient for me with it being so close, but if I had to choose my absolute favourite it would be Greenwich Park. I never thought when moving to London id find such a quiet pocket of land to run in. the scenic views, timid atmosphere and the feeling of the running through quaint parks whilst having the buzz of a city is truly unbeatable.

Living in London for a few months now, you’ve experienced the city’s diverse energy. How has the urban landscape influenced your approach to outdoor activities?

Morgan: London’s energy is contagious, and it has definitely shaped my approach to staying active. The city offers a unique blend of urban and green spaces, making it easy to incorporate outdoor activities into my routine.

Lululemon recently introduced the statement, “the most important answers are never behind a search bar.” Do you agree with this philosophy?

Morgan: Absolutely! In a world where we often turn to our devices for answers, there’s something profound about seeking experiences and finding solutions outside of a screen. Lululemon’s messages resonates with me because it encourages us to look beyond the digital realm and truly connect with our surroundings and ourselves. The relief running gives me from being online is immense, social media is an overwhelming and exhausting but being able to look up and see greenery and nature is so grounding for me.

What advice do you have for individuals who may be hesitant to start their fitness journey or face obstacles in maintaining a healthy lifestyle?

Morgan: The first step is always intimidating but everyone has start somewhere. The key for me was finding something I adored, as a kid it was my dance classes and now its running. It can be anything from a walk to yoga in your garden. Fitness should be a joyful experience!

In today’s digital age, what’s been the most effective way for you to keep your head up and out of your phone?

Morgan: It’s all about finding balance. While I love sharing my adventures on social media, I make a conscious effort to set aside dedicated time for outdoor activities without digital distractions. For me, its always a run but a walk or simply enjoying nature are equally as effective. These simple moments help me to stay grounded and present in such a busy world.

How do you navigate the mental barriers that often accompany a fitness journey, and what advice do you have for cultivating a positive mindset?

Morgan: The mental aspect is just as important as the physical. If negative thoughts arise, I try my best to counteract them with positive affirmations. The intimidation of possibly feeling embarrassed or lost can be overwhelming but my favourite tactic to overcome this is making sure I feel comfortable in the clothes im in, Lululemon activewear always gives me that confidence.

Finally, can you share any upcoming events or initiatives associated with the campaign that people can look forward to?

Morgan: There are some parts I can’t let slip yet… but two parts I can let you know are we have teamed up to create resources which will be launching onto the Lululemon Studio app! I’ve given the team all my best mindfulness exercises, park guides and most importantly my best playlists to help ignite some inspiration for everyone. The other thing I can reveal is that there will be a new collection launching along with the campaign! I’ve helped the team with some ideas for it and I can’t wait to see people wearing the clothes.

Lululemon’s campaign to encourage Gen z to embrace the outdoors aligns perfectly with Morgan Leonard’s active and adventurous lifestyle. By sharing her insights on living in London, favourite running spots, and the importance of disconnecting from technology, Morgan exemplifies the spirit of the campaign – inspiring a generation to explore the world outside the search bar.
