Why were doing this.
With reports stating that 73% of Gen Z are constantly feeling alone as a result of COVID-19’s lockdown, we see it as our mission to improve this as best we know how:
with the power of music.
Here at Spotify Music, we know how important music can be. It connects us in ways that conversations can’t at times, especially when meeting new people.
That’s why our Follow the Beat Outdoors campaign in focused on bringing young adults together in a less confrontational way:
allowing music to carry the conversation.

How to get involved.

On the 9th, 12th and 15th July 2025, the Follow the Beat Outdoors campaign will be hosting 3 live events in some of London’s most loved parks.
Each event is based on one of Gen Z’s most streamed genres:
Pop, R&B or Rock
At these events, there will be live music from loved artists and team games that involve working together with other music lovers to win exclusive prizes.
