The Daily Muse : Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Inspires Captivating London’s Very Own Murder Mystery Party By Netflix

Netflix is throwing the biggest Murder Mystery party this weekend and the whole of London is invited!

Londoners can now put their thinking caps on and experience their Knives Out murder mystery at Hyde Park this January. Inspired by their newest movie; Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Netflix is excited to be hosting this ground-breaking event for Londoners to enjoy. Netflix is encouraging London’s youth to get out and get some much-needed fresh air for a change. This is a part of Netflix’s conscious effort to help correct the unhealthy lifestyle that the world has adopted since the pandemic that unfortunately they helped created.

The campaign speaks to the youth’s struggles as a generation that is deeply affected by the pandemic as they make their way back to their pre-pandemic normal lives. Today’s youth are more fearful and anxious about the future than ever before. In the UK, 50% of millennials and Gen Zs report feeling anxious or stressed most of the time. Our digital lives have gotten even more ingrained in our daily lives as some schooling and work-from-home schedules have become the new normal, with real-life experiences significantly decreasing as we increasingly view the world through screens, Netflix is attempting to get us out of bed and join in a weekend full of exciting adventure in the city’s greenery.

In the upcoming Knives Out sequel, viewers are introduced to an eccentric group of characters alongside the infamous Benoit Blanc- the dashing southern detective played by Handsome Brit, Daniel Craig. The movie follows a tale of an eccentric, influential and rich group escaping the reality of the pandemic to join in a murder mystery party hosted by their friendly neighbourhood tech billionaire; who vaguely resembles Elon Musk on his private island in Greece and to their surprise detective Benoit Blanc was also invited to join in on the fun. Some of the star-studded cast of Glass Onion includes; Kate Hudson playing an aloof washed-up celebrity, Janelle Monae as the mysterious ex-business partner to the tech mogul Edward Norton, Muscle-head misogynistic twitch-streamer Dave Bautista, unhinged local politician played by Kathryn Hahn and Leslie Odom Jr. as the spineless scientist.

Just like the characters in Glass Onion, young people are in dire need of some sort of short escapism after being trapped in their homes due to Covid-19, albeit the general public probably is not going to a utopian private island in Greece but at least they have London’s very own Hyde Park. Netflix UK has been teasing the public with the juicy details of the upcoming event, announcing that there will be a very special guest joining them and show-stopping prizes to be won.

Participants will be split up into groups with multiple murder mystery adventures happening all at once scattering through London’s biggest park. As of now, Netflix UK has announced 5 different themes in 5 different parts of the park – Murder Underground, The Waterloo Killer, Murder at Regent St, Bloody Thames and The Bridge of Death. It is hinted that there will be 10 murder mysteries, which will be announced within the next few days.

So if you fancy a day’s worth of exploration and adventure in the city, maybe you should consider spending the day playing detective at Hyde Park with Netflix on the 14th  or 15th of January!
